This Osprey Almost Missed the Dive. Then Everything Changed.

I’ve watched a lot of ospreys dive for fish too many times to count. This one’s near the top of the list.

For about half a second it looked like it wasn’t going to happen. Then the bird locked in, hit the water, and came up with one of the biggest fish I’ve caught this close on camera. Water everywhere, fish still fighting, bird working hard just to get airborne with that kind of weight hanging off its talons.

One continuous dive. No cuts, no splicing two different clips together. Just an osprey doing exactly what it’s built to do, filmed closer than I’ve ever managed to get one of these.
