Sony A1 & Sony 200-600 First Impressions Part 1 – Alpha One 4k 120fps Footage
For three weeks I have had the pleasure of shooting the newly introduced Sony A1 paired with the Sony 200-600 Lens. I was not happy with the 200-600 on my A7RIV so I was very eager to see how this lens performed on the new flagship Sony mirrorless camera. I spent several mornings trying the camera lens combo out at one of my favorite locations during nest building season. The video below highlights what can be done with this camera combo. Enjoy!
Mark,
Let me start off by saying I really like your work. I have been photographing bird for about 5 years now and have gone from Canon to Nikon and now going to try the move from Nikon to Sony. I am buying the A9 and 200-600, being shipped as I write this. I am planning on getting the 1.4x teleconverter but do have a question; with the A9 * 200-600 combo is the 2x teleconverter a viable option, I realize the loss of light and some IQ and only would plan on using it on a very limited as needed basis. I expect AF may/will take a hit. There are those who say it works or should I just save my money. Your thoughts would be greatly approached.
Thank you in advance
Rick
I haven’t tried the 1.4 tele on the 200-600 and wouldn’t. Just my opinion but the reach is not worth the cost.
