Canon EOS R5 Canon RF 100-500 – First Impressions Bird Wildlife Photography
I was finally able to get my hands on the Canon EOS R5 and the Canon RF 100-500 lens. I immediately took the camera combo out to one of my favorite locations to see how the camera handles bird in flight photography. If you want to see how EOS R5 performs, watch the video below.
Great video mate! When you say the 100-500m lens is a little soft, what are you comparing it to? Is that a Sony or Canon f/4 or f/2.8 you refer to? I have a Canon R5 which I currently team up with the Canon EF 200-400 f/4 lens and I am trying to figure out if the RF 100-500mm will be a step down or somewhere close to matching it with the added stabilisation? For sure a big prime would be best but they are so hard to travel with these days. I find the appeal of lightening the weight of my gear very tempting, but I do not want to sacrifice end quality as I do sell prints of my work.
Yes, I am used to the big Sony primes and they are currently unmatched in my book.
